Friday, 17 December 2021 – Back in August, the honor of releasing the first ever track on Tomorrowland Music went to Dutch powerhouse Afrojack’s new brainchild Never Sleeps, joining forces with rising star Chic Rose on their uplifting banger ‘You Got The Love’. Closing off Tomorrowland’s label imprint’s first musical year in style, the Tomorrowland veteran has now enlisted a couple of his friends to create remixes of the sing-along anthem, released through Tomorrowland Music today. Featuring artists: D.O.D, twocolors and Chico Rose – the brand-new remix pack treats fans to three different stellar re-imaginations across genres.
'You Got The Love’ (The Remixes) are out now via all platforms.
A musical pioneer and champion of his signature brew of UK Jackin' House sound (#FutureJack), British DJ and producer D.O.D has well and truly found the sweet spot between fun and fame, chalking up multiple #1s on Beatport and gathering well over a hundred million plays across the most popular streaming portals. Today, the U.K DJ and producer is moving further into the U.K House sound and cementing his spot alongside the scene’s leading figures.
D.O.D: “I’m really proud to be the first artist to remix a record on Tomorrowland Music, it’s a huge honor. Took things down a different lane with this one. Enjoy the ride!”
Chico Rose became a notable figure in the dance scene and soon after got picked up by Afrojack, who included Chico into his team. The two started making a string of collaborations, while his big international breakthrough came with “Chico Rose – Sad (feat Afrojack)”, amassing over 72 million streams on Spotify alone and having big success on European radio. Having joined Afrojack on the first single of his new brainchild Never Sleeps, Chico is a rising star that’s here to stay!
Chico Rose: “The original version of ‘You Got The Love’ started together with Afrojack a couple of years ago and I’m super stoked we got to release it this summer as the first-ever release on Tomorrowland’s newly launched in-house label, Tomorrowland Music. As to wrap up its first year of releasing music and as an early Christmas gift, I was thinking about making a new version of the song and came up with the idea of doing a Chico Rose House Remix for the people that want to dance during the holidays. I hope you like it because a lot of more house music from me is coming your way in the near future.”
World-conquering DJ/producer duo twocolors is full of contrasts, just like their city of Berlin, where the two musicians met in 2015. Pierro and Emil are constantly trying to build a bridge between electronic dance and pop music. Alternative and underground influences but also pop and mainstream culture and music – those two strong opposites are what their sound is anchored in. Aiming for a new symbiosis of driving electro and melodic pop.
twocolors: “We have been listening to Afrojack’s music since we were teenagers and started working with Ableton to make our own music. So to us, doing a remix for ‘You Got The Love’ is an amazing feeling and we are excited to, once again, share the darker, deeper side of twocolors with the world! And, working with Tomorrowland is nothing short of fantastic as we are of course huge fans of the festival and playing there is definitely on our bucket list!”
Fun. That’s the common denominator in the musical endeavor of D.O.D (Dan O’Donnell). Creating his own trends rather than following others, the British DJ and producer continues to catapult into consciousness with a slice of high-energy artistry that’s hard to rival.
Known for his signature brew of UK Jackin' House, the Manchester-born go-getter started his journey at the age of 14 as a technically gifted DJ in the local club circuit. After winning Mixmag’s DJ competition of 2010 and subsequently becoming their Ibiza resident, D.O.D felt he’d reached his limit and decided to further his career by embracing his inner creator and began producing music.
Since then, D.O.D has well and truly found the sweet spot between fun and fame, adding sophistication and maturity to his sound with every step he takes. He chalked up multiple #1s on Beatport, garnered well over a hundred million plays across the most popular streaming portals, crowned with BBC Radio 1’s tune of the week & Hottest Record in the world with his recent hit ‘Still Sleepless’ featuring UK female vocalist, Carla Monroe. He’s graced the star-studded line-ups of gargantuan festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra and Creamfields, and saw his zest rewarded with a spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll of 2019, 2020 & 2021. Now moving even further into the U.K. House sound, he is evidently making all the right moves to evolve as an artist and cement his spot alongside the music world’s finest.
D.O.D will continue to push forward in his trademark manner, injecting the scene with the fun and excitement it needs to stay fresh. So, if you feel like life is getting too serious, you know who to turn to. Just put on a D.O.D record and let loose!
About Chico Rose
Chico Rose started his career at an early age, releasing on labels such as Vato Gonzalez’ Dirty House Records, and Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings. Chico became a notable figure in the dance scene and soon after got picked up by Afrojack, who included Chico into his team. The two started making a string of collaborations, such as “The Great Escape”, “Where Did The Love Go” on Afrojack’s Wall Recordings imprint. His big international breakthrough came with “Chico Rose – Sad (feat Afrojack)” on Spinnin’ Records. The single amassed over 85 million streams on Spotify alone and had big success on European radio. Chico did not sit still and quickly followed up with “Somebody’s Watching Me”, a collaboration with producer duo 71 Digits. The single became a radio hit in France and has amassed over 65 million Spotify streams and counting! With a schedule full of new music and exiting collaborations coming up, Chico is a rising star that’s here to stay!
The duo twocolors is full of contrasts, just like their city of Berlin, where the two musicians met in 2015 and immediately began to release music via their own, independent imprint, before signing to Virgin Records Germany/UMG in 2020.
twocolors are Pierro and Emil, both musicians (piano, guitar) were both born and raised in Berlin. “We live in the stronghold of electronic music. It is part of our DNA. The clubs, the different styles, the people - all of that inspires us. But at the same time, it is also simply the place where we are at home and can develop freely. Everything that people in the world think of Berlin, about the whole scene, that's the way it is. But for us it's just the place we call home.”
A bit of recent twocolors history:
Their first major-label release was “Lovefool”, an infectious rework of the classic by The Cardigans which has surpassed 240 million Spotify streams and generated over 1.7 billion streams across DSPs globally. It is officially platinum-certified in Germany and Finland, gold- certified in Canada, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Sweden, double-platinum in Austria and Switzerland and eight-times-platinum in Russia. With a total of over 1.72 billion global streams, the pair’s monthly listeners have now skyrocketed to over 7 million.
Next up was “Bloodstream” (March 2021) – a song they wrote together with Hight and René Miller. The track got great support by DSPs globally; it was added to over 35 Spotify NMF playlists and got the cover of the “mint” playlist on day of release. Global radio loves twocolors as well - “Bloodstream” reached #15 on the German Airplay Charts in no time and has since amassed in excess of 70.000 radio plays in 58 countries.
This was followed by “Passion” (September 2021) with another side of twocolors, an infectious female vocal and a mesmerizing hook as well as the duo’s most ambitious video yet, featuring a dystopian underground club and a DeLorean as an escape vehicle, as well as their ‘TC/TC Edition 001 EP’, which showcased the darker, clubbier, deeper, grittier side of twocolors.
They have also done remixes for the likes of Black Eyed Peas & Shakira, Jessie J., Topic, Lost Frequencies, Rammstein, Emmitt Fenn, Banners and many more.
One thing is for certain: twocolors are here to stay. And they are just beginning to show what they are truly made of.
